Behind the Smile spotlights 11 everyday people who have navigated arduous mental health challenges throughout their lives. This audiovisual exhibition showcases the diversity of the human experience, and explores the depth of what goes on behind the smile. It is a call to people's empathy, and a space for viewers to find hope and strength in the challenges people have overcome. Returning by popular demand is the annual Hibiscus Art Studio trail which runs over three days in Feb. A self-drive self-guided trip around the beautiful Hibiscus Coast to visit and view the range of creative spaces. In an era where digital technologies often overshadow traditional methods, the timeless art of printmaking has struggled to retain its revered status. Our project, “Pressing Matters” seeks to illuminate the intricate craftsmanship and intrinsic value of original printmaking through an immersive educational experience.

A group of local and talented painters meet every Monday at Stanmore Bay Hall to paint together, collaborate, share ideas and socialise. This exhibition is a culmination of their work and a celebration of their year's creativity.

With a Masters degree in business, Jane loves being a part-time tutor with Estuary Arts Centre, passing on her knowledge, insights and experiences as well as meeting other artists. “My work has been exhibited at galleries in Wellington and Auckland, and I am VERY proud of recently winning the Premier Award at the Annual Members Merit Awards 2025 at the Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa. This was definitely a career highlight for me.”
