Class Description
This class is for all skill levels: Beginners; Intermediates and Advanced Potters. This is a great class for anyone who wants an introduction to different ways of working with clay. You will learn the main hand building techniques like pinching, coiling as well as slab work and you will also have a go at wheel throwing. You will learn various ways of glazing and methods of adding colour to your work. At the end of the class you might have found a favourite technique you want to explore further. This class is also a great opportunity for those wanting to work on their own self-directed projects backed up by an experienced tutor as your mentor. Come and join Sylvia in the studio and set up your own goals for the term and make your wheel throwing or hand building dreams come alive. Cost Breakdown Member: $313.50 Incl. GST = $39.19 per class ($13.06 per hour) Cost Breakdown Non Member: $330.00 Incl. GST = $41.25 per class ($13.75per hour). Members: Current EAC members will receive 5% discount. Firing and glazing cost extra. Clay can be purchased at the Estuary Arts Centre, $39.00 for 10kg. Pottery tools can be purchased from KMart or any 2Dollar store or a kit may be purchased from the centre (limited stock is available).
