Class Description

In this beginners class you will learn the basics of both hand-building with clay and throwing on the wheel with our amazing tutor Sylvia Sinel. In this beginners’ class Sylvia will take you through the basics of hand-building pottery and throwing on the wheel. If you have always wanted to try pottery then this is the class for you. You will learn about the different clays and what you can do with them. You will create some pinch bowls, platters and other amazing items you can take home and even gift to family and friends. Cost Breakdown Member: $313.50 Incl. GST = $39.19 per class ($13.06 per hour) Cost Breakdown Non-member: $330.00 Incl. GST = $41.25 per class ($13.75 per hour). Members: Current EAC members will receive 5% discount. Please use your membership number as the PROMO code. Prerequisites: Beginners welcome. Intermediates are welcome to join to brush up on skills. Supplies: The cost of clay is extra and can be purchased at the Estuary Arts Centre on the day. Firing and glazing are also extra. You will need to purchase a set of clay tools from Kmart /The Warehouse or any 2 Dollar store. Bring an apron to wear.
