Premier Winners:
Premier 2D: Tracey Currington "Landsape Stories" Encaustic on panel
This work entices the viewer in for a closer inspection. The texture, pattern and colour morph together creating the play of shimmering dark and light to produce a beautiful encaustic work. It was incredibly alluring. The play of light through these elements being skilfully fused together results in a captivating landscape of stories.
Permier 3D: David Webster "Stello" Metal
The unique craftsmanship, design and execution of this work I thought was incredibly captivating and professional. The artist has an obvious knowledge of his craft and material. The play between2000 music, art, design, craft and nostalgia encourage a wonderful amount of discussion. The kiwi bloke with the number 8 wire mentality and an interest in creative craftsmanship might very well be interested in coming to David Webster’s solo exhibition in 2027! I think it’s going to be a fascinating and intriguing show!
