Class Description

"Have a Go - Day 1" Carving Workshop with Natanahira Pona Age 12 to 18 | Very Limited Spaces | All Materials Included Join renowned artist Natanahira Pona for an intensive three-day wood-carving experience. Learn essential carving techniques, tool handling, design development, and the cultural meanings behind key Māori patterns such as Kōwhaiwhai (whakapapa), Raperape (transition), and Pūngāwerewere (knowledge). Book 1 Day or All 3 Days Choose the full programme for the complete learning journey (includes a discounted rate), or join for a single “have-a-go” day. Note: one-day participants will only have time for a small carving project. Suitable for participants 12+ who are confident working with tools and can self-manage safely. Carving involves sharp tools and requires focus and care. All materials, tool access, and design resources provided. Spaces are strictly limited due to the nature of the workshop — early booking is recommended.
