Class Description
Creative Connections: Therapeutic Arts for Youth Wellbeing - Free, please submit your application to youth@estuaryarts.org. Creative Connections is a 1.5-hour art programme for neurodiverse teens and young people, Ages 12-15 years, who want to nurture creativity, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. Guided by arts therapy facilitator Jasmin Ryan, this calm, inclusive space allows art to become a pathway to self-expression and belonging. Students work on their own projects at their own pace, exploring a variety of materials and processes. With small class sizes and all materials provided, everyone receives personalised support. An important feature of this programme is that students do not have to share their artwork with parents or caregivers—their creations are for them alone. Participation in the year-end exhibition is optional, though students will have the opportunity to work towards a collective showcase if they wish. Disclaimer: Parents/caregivers must remain on site (not in the classroom) in case of an emergency. Children must be able to self-manage and have to be non-violent. Classes are split by age to foster friendships and community. While waiting, whānau can enjoy the walkway, Driftwood Café, or gallery & gift shop. Please book your spot now with the BOOK NOW button and submit your application to youth@estuaryarts.org. Your booking will only be confirmed upon a successful application. With thanks to the Potter Masonic for their grant funding.
