Class Description

Get your hands dirty and your creativity flowing in this fun and engaging four-hour pottery workshop designed just for teens! Led by experienced ceramic artist Sylvia Sinel, participants will explore the basics of hand-building and enjoy a one-on-one guided session on the pottery wheel—perfect for those new to clay. No prior experience needed! Teens will begin by sketching a simple design, then move on to shaping their own form using both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. The session will include time for decorating and personalising their creations, with tips on texture, form, and finishing. By the end of the day, each student will have crafted a unique ceramic piece and gained valuable insights into the art of pottery in a relaxed, supportive environment. Up to two standard sized item is included, fired and glazed. 🧒 Ages 11+ 🎨 All materials provided 👩‍🎨 Led by our local artist Sylvia Sinel What to Bring: 🍱 Water bottle and a lunchbox. 👕 Kids should wear old clothes—we get messy when we’re having fun! Additional Info: 🔹 All staff are police-vetted for your peace of mind. 🔹 Parents are not allowed in the classroom once the workshop begins. If your child needs a little encouragement, feel free to stay on-site. We have comfortable seating in the foyer and the Driftwood Café is conveniently located in the building.
