Class Description
Join us for a relaxing and creative workshop designed for adult who would like to explore the beauty of watercolour painting. In this session, you will learn how to capture the form and colour of a flower using watercolour techniques. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some experience, this class will guide you step by step through the process of creating your own finished flower painting. What you will learn: · Value scale practice · Basic watercolour techniques (wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, colour mixing, and washes) · How to control water and pigment for soft blends and details · Build up layers for depth and vibrancy · Tips for finishing touches to bring your flower to life Materials needed: · Watercolour paper, 300gsm HP 100% cotton (provided) · Watercolour paper for testing (provided) · Transfer paper (provided) · Watercolour brush, round brush size 2 – 8 recommended · Watercolour paints, artist quality, we will use four colours for this workshop: o Quinacridone Magenta o Hansa Yellow Light or lemon yellow o Phthalo Blue (red shade) or French Ultramarine Blue o Perylene Violet You don’t have to rush out to buy these colours if you don’t have them, any basic set or at least 3 colours – yellow, red, blue will do · Two glass jars for brush washing · Paper towel or rag for dap-drying brush · Pencil 2F or 4F (sharpened or mechanic pencil 0.5mm) · Kneaded eraser Prerequisites: Beginners welcome.
