Class Description

A popular course run by experienced painting tutor Kate Jones. Join Kate in this 8 week intermediate painting course. Kate will guide you through a range of painting techniques and exercises to further develop your work. Students can work in oils or acrylics, or both. Cost Breakdown for Members: $266.00 Incl GST = $33.25 per class ($11.08 per hour). Cost Breakdown for Non Members: $280.00 Incl GST = $35.00 per class ($11.67 per hour). Members: Current members will receive 5% discount for this course. Please use your membership number as the PROMO code. Prerequisites: Intermediate to advanced painting skills required. Supplies: Students required to bring their own art supplies (i.e.: paints, brushes and canvas, paper or board) 1. Pencil or charcoal / rubber 2. Ruler always helpful 3. Assorted Acrylic Paint brushes 4. Roll of paper towel- NB!!!! 5. Mixing Pallet (Stay wet pallet works very well) 6. Pallet knife 7. Roll of glad wrap (plastic food wrap) 8. Notebook to take notes down 9. Gesso Black or White 10. Spare canvas (small canvas panel/board for practicing) very helpful 11. Water spray bottle 12. Masking tape 13. Tear-off Palette 14. Pad of Printing paper 15. Acrylic / Oil paint: Phthalo blue; French Ultramarine, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium red Hue or vermillion, Lemon yellow, Cadmium yellow deep, Black (lamp or Mars), Titanium white, Sap Green, Magenta, Yellow Ochre, Raw Umber, Burnt Sienna; Burnt Umber. Avoid buying student paints for this class, focus on buying better quality acrylic or oils paints such as Golden, Matisse, Winsor & Newton. You are welcome to try water mixable oils.
