                              David Poole, Centre Director
                              Gulf Harbour resident David Poole was nominated by Jennifer Kipfer and Jennifer Atkinson for his work to support art and culture within Rodney. 

                              David is a founding member of the Arts Forum Incorporated. He is also a committee member of the East Rodney Arts Council and has a long association with the Estuary Arts Centre. David was involved in the centre from the design stage and as a volunteer he project managed the refit of the centre and assisted with the fundraising for the project. 

                              David is the Centre Director, fulfilling this role in a voluntary capacity. His enthusiasm and dedication to the centre is passed on to the other volunteers and his vision and encouragement fuels their work. David brings a high level of professionalism to this role and of course his background as an artist and his knowledge of the arts.
                              David Poole has been an artist for over 25 years and now resides in Gulf Harbour after living for some 30 years in England.  He works full time from his own studio, Flametree gallery where he paints and conducts classes teaching art, life drawing, and the process of self exploration to draw out talent and the freedom to be self expressive.

                              He has recently featured in a short film entitled “Why does the dog bark?” 

                              David’s artistic accomplishments include:
                              • Attended Hampstead School Art London under tutorage of Diana Constance
                              • Featured in Harper Collins Paintings from Photographs by Diana Constance.  This was a book designed to demonstrate/teach how to paint from photos.
                              • Member of Royal Academy painting Artist for 25 years
                              • Teacher of art in London
                              • Teacher of art Flametree Studio , Gulf harbour
                              • Committee member RAC East
                              • Founding member of TAFI
                              • Currently project liaison with Trust and Rodney council project manager
